The following early deaths and marriages were excerpted from the early Quincy newspapers; The "Illinois Bounty Land Register" 1835-1836, and the "Quincy Whig" 1838-1850. It is assumed the events took place in Adams Co., Illinois, unless otherwise stated. The deaths of Adams County were not recorded until 1877 and then only those that a doctor took the time to record with the county clerk. In 1916, Illinois made it mandatory to record all deaths with county clerks. All the marriages that were performed in Adams County are recorded in the County Clerk's office. They begin with the formation of the county, in 1825. 45 pages, bride's index. Names include: Conover, Jost, McCann, Streeter, Topliff, Vandenburgh
